This Week's Kits: 01/04-08/04
It's Wednesday - which means it's New Sewing Survival Kit day! So grab yourself a cup of tea, and we'll talk you through what's on offer this week.
First up, let's talk Tilly and The Buttons. You guys cannot get enough of the Indigo, and we don't blame you - it is perfect isolation-wear! With it's #secretpyjamas credentials and it's simple construction, it is an #isewlation winner! You all seem to love the Indigo Kit in our Burgundy Bubble Crepe, so we have kept this fabric available for another week. We have, however, exchanged the Broderie Anglaise for the gorgeous Navy Polka Dot Morrocaine Crepe; like the Burgundy Crepe, it has a fantastic drape - we think you'll love it!

Next up in this week's Kits is the TATB Coco, a fabulously comfortable dress (or top), and another #secretpyjamas contender. We have chosen two gorgeous fabrics for you, however remember that if you would prefer a different fabric, just get in touch and we can make you up a bespoke kit.
The first fabric we have chosen for you is our new Dark Rose French Terry, a cotton jersey with a soft handle - and a slight hint of glitter on the stripes! What's not to love?! Stripes not your thing? Then how about the Tilly and The Buttons Love Your Nails, a cotton jersey with a fun print. Both of the jerseys on offer are nice and stable and easy to sew with - if you've never sewn with stretch before, then this is the perfect starter pattern, and the perfect kit to try.
The final Tilly pattern on the Sewing Survival Kit list this week is the incredibly popular Cleo dungaree dress - for those of you thinking that this looks too advanced, never fear, this is a simple, beginner friendly pattern.
For this kit, we have opted for our Indigo Denim or our Terracotta Soft Cord, both fabrics are easy to handle, and would make a gorgeous Cleo. Love hand sewing? The denim would look gorgeous with some hand embroidery embellishments on the pocket... and it's not like we are all pressed for time at the moment!
Since releasing our Nina Lee patterns, you guys have gone mad for them! Luckily, we've managed to get another stock delivery! This week's Nina Lee Kit is the Camden Pinafore, a flattering princess seamed bodice, with a slight A-line skirt. Alex has made FIVE of the Camden's, you can check out her review here.
For this kit's fabric we have two very popular choices; our brand new Starry Night Denim (isn't this absolutely gorgeous?!) and our newly restocked Navy Stonewashed Linen. Both would make a striking Camden! If you're feeling brave, then how about using a contrast thread for the linen? It would look gorgeous in white or red - just request a different coloured thread in the comments section during checkout.
Our final kit on offer this week is the Nexus Blouse, an incredibly versatile pattern - this blouse can be made up and worn in so many different ways, each with it's own charm.
We have chosen two of our new fabrics for this kit, both are Viscose and therefore have incredible drape - just perfect for this pattern. First up is our Tiger Queen Viscose, a dark mustard/brown shade, with small illustrated tigers making up the print - absolutely gorgeous! The second offering is our new Emerald Floral Viscose, a classic print on a classic colour. Both options would make beautiful Nexus blouses, the hard part is deciding which to go for!
So there you have it, 5 new kits, all designed to keep you sewing (and sane!) during lockdown. As usual, we will send you everything you need to make each kit - no need to leave the house in search of supplies. You can all of the Sewing Survival Kits here, including kids kits, which can all be sewn by hand.
Remember, if you want a slightly different kit, or a bespoke kit made up just for you, just get in touch with your request and we will send you a price.
Thank you to everyone who has purchased a kit and/or fabric already, you are keeping an independent shop going during these crazy times ❤️
Stay safe and happy sewing, love Kate & the Sew Creative Team x
