This Week's Kits - 25/03-01/04
As many of you have already discovered, Sew Creative are now selling Sewing Survival Kits, which consist of a range of both dressmaking and kids sewing kits. The aim of these kits is to keep you sane whilst you stay safe at home and #isewlate. We will send you everything that you need to make a garment or project, even down to the hand sewing needles and the thread!
Our first collection of Sewing Survival Kits launched last week and we have been overwhelmed by the love they have received. Each week, we are going to change kits that we offer, to keep you and your children well supplied during these strange and unprecedented times. So let's have a look at the kits we've put together for you this week!
Indigo is a firm favourite with the Sew Creative team. I think we've all fallen for its quick make time and 'Secret Pyjamas' credentials. This versatile smock dress or top can be worn in endless ways and we haven't come across a person who doesn't suit it. Different from other smock dresses, Indigo has bust darts, which means that the bodice can fit a little bit closer without being uncomfortable. Lets have a look at the Indigo kits in more detail:
This pattern really is a stunner, and works well in so many fabric choices. We've chosen to offer the kit in our Burgundy Floral Crepe and our beautiful Broderie Anglaise. The kit contains enough fabric to make the dress, so you can make this a 'choose your own adventure' project. With countless pattern hacks floating around online, take some time to decide what features you will add. Another ruffle at the hem? Ruffle sleeves? Button back? Go, go go!
Bobbi is a new addition to the Tilly family and we have fallen in love. A while ago, back when TATB released their Ness skirt, Alex (as well as many of our lovely customers!) got very excited and quickly whipped one up. Well, she didn't quite 'whip it up'. Ness is a longer make with advanced techniques like a fly front closure and hem split. Bobbi on the other hand, is a refreshingly easy, well-fitted skirt. It features a panelled back, allowing for easy fitting and a button front closure. The pinafore option is a move away from TATB Cleo dress, as it allows for a closer fit at the waist and buttons all the way up. Last week, the Bobbi kit was our most popular kit, so for this week, we have updated up the fabrics to offer you some different inspo. This Sewing Survival Kit comes with enough fabric to make the skirt, but if you fancy making the pinafore, let us know and we can upgrade your kit for you.
As we're moving into better weather (YAY!) we've chosen some more spring-friendly fabrics for you all. Option one is our Mustard Needlecord, a lovely midweight fabric that, when paired with a navy long sleeve top, will give you seaside vibes (even if you are only in the garden with a paddling pool!). The second option is our Lilac Stonewashed Linen, a sturdy and easy to sew option with a gorgeous texture. Remember, if you'd prefer a different fabric than the ones we have chosen, just get in touch and we can out together a kit just for you!
We've kept the Fifi kit the same from last week, as you lovely people all seemed to love it so much! Just because you may be stuck at home all day, there is no need to not look your usual glam self (whilst still being in your PJs!). Fifi is the gorgeous pyjama set that will give you a little bit of luxury whilst you're isolating. We're offering the kits in a gorgeous floaty viscose and a cool, crisp cotton, both easy to sew options. If you're tired of the leggings and old tee you've been wearing at home, then get sewing yourself some luxe Fifi jammies!
A new addition to the Sewing Survival Kit family this week is the Papercut Sequence Blouse. This garment is a loose fitting wrap blouse with a tie waist. It would look fab paired with jeans for a stay-at-home and sew look or with smart black trousers once you're back in the office. We're offering this kit in two summer-stable viscose fabrics. Both wonderfully light and drapey, so take your pick from our fruity print or very popular leopard print.
The grown on sleeves in this pattern mean that theres nothing fiddly to sew and there are only three main pattern pieces! Perfect to sew up in an afternoon or to take your time over, adding a little bit every day.
On the blog this week, we'll also be introducing you to our brand new pattern range from the fabulous Nina Lee. The Kew dress is a standout from the range, being a versatile and fun tea dress or skirt with vintage vibes, so it was an obvious choice for one of our kits this week. The Kew kit comes with the choice of our Green Floral Crepe or our Monochrome Dotty Crepe, both floaty and girly options that work for equally well for a summer party or a day at the office.

Park Lane is the latest addition to Nina Lee's pattern catalogue and it's a real beauty. This week's kit offers the fabric for the top option in either our Acorn Bubble Crepe or our Rose Blush Crepe. Both of these fabrics scream summer and this is a great opportunity to sew up something to wear when the world returns to normal!
